For new referred members. Standard monthly advocacy fees and variable crowdfunding contributions apply after the first 3 months; other terms and eligibility requirements apply. Confirm details with CrowdHealth.

Important: CrowdHealth is not health insurance. Medical expense crowdfunding is voluntary, is not guaranteed, and works differently from insurance.

THE SIMPLE VERSION

So, how does CrowdHealth work?

It's not an insurance policy. It's a platform that helps members navigate healthcare, find fair prices and request voluntary crowdfunding for eligible medical expenses.

01
↗

Join the crowd

Pay a monthly advocacy fee and participate in monthly contributions to help fund eligible expenses for other members.

02
♡

Get help with care

Use care advocates to help find providers, navigate bills and negotiate prices. You generally pay providers as a self-pay patient.

03
✳

Submit eligible expenses

You pay your chosen per-event commitment first. Remaining eligible costs can be submitted for voluntary crowdfunding—never guaranteed.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

For people who are done feeling stuck.

CrowdHealth may be worth a closer look if you pay for your own healthcare and want to explore a different way to manage the expense.

  • ✓ You're self-employed or own a small business.
  • ✓ You're buying coverage for your family without much employer help.
  • ✓ You're open to the tradeoffs of a non-insurance option.

Not everyone will qualify or be a good fit. A traditional insurance plan may offer essential protections, especially if you need guaranteed benefits or treatment for ongoing conditions.

!
THE PART THAT REALLY MATTERS

Let's talk about the fine print. Honestly.

Lower monthly costs can sound great. But with CrowdHealth, medical bills are ultimately your responsibility, and community funding is voluntary—not guaranteed. Expenses related to previously diagnosed or symptomatic conditions generally aren't eligible for crowdfunding during the first two years, and other limitations apply.

That's why I want you to understand both the possibilities and the tradeoffs before making a decision.

ADAM & FAMILY
HI, I'M ADAM.

Insurance has been my business for years. People come first.

I'm Adam Mirkes. Before becoming an independent insurance agent in 2012, I was a teacher and coach. I started helping families and business owners navigate insurance because I care about their peace of mind—and their bottom line.

I created Thankfully Uninsured to introduce people to CrowdHealth and help them ask the right questions. I'm not here to tell everyone to ditch insurance. I'm here to help you understand an option that may be worth considering.

Wondering about the details?

Here are a few things everyone should know before joining.

See all CrowdHealth FAQs
Is CrowdHealth health insurance?+

No. CrowdHealth is a healthcare crowdfunding platform and support service, not insurance. Contributions are voluntary; payment of medical expenses isn't guaranteed, and members remain responsible for their bills.

What do members pay?+

With referral code MIRKES, new members pay $99 per person per month for their first three months. After that, CrowdHealth charges an advocacy fee plus variable monthly crowdfunding contributions and any applicable per-event commitment. Review up-to-date amounts and eligibility with CrowdHealth before signing up.

What if I have an existing medical condition?+

Important limitations apply. CrowdHealth generally treats conditions diagnosed, documented or symptomatic within five years before joining as previously existing. Related expenses generally aren't eligible for crowdfunding in the first two years; limited eligibility begins in year three. Read the full rules before deciding.

Can I use any doctor?+

CrowdHealth doesn't use a traditional insurance provider network. You generally receive care as a self-pay patient, and a care advocate can help you find providers and negotiate pricing.

Who might not be a good fit?+

People who need guaranteed insurance benefits, have significant ongoing healthcare needs, rely on certain coverage protections or need treatment for previously diagnosed conditions should carefully compare traditional insurance options. CrowdHealth also has eligibility restrictions.
